Vuurtoreneiland

Just a short boat ride from Amsterdam, Vuurtoreneiland offers an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of nature. Dine in a glass greenhouse in summer or a historic fort by firelight in winter. Seasonal menus feature local ingredients, cooked over open flames with care and craftsmanship. The experience includes a ferry trip from the Lloyd Hotel, drinks, and a six-course dinner — lasting about five hours.

Just a short boat ride from Amsterdam, Vuurtoreneiland offers a dining experience unlike any other. This small, wild island combines nature, craftsmanship, and seasonal cuisine in a breathtaking setting that changes throughout the year.

From mid-May to September, guests dine in a glass greenhouse, surrounded by water, light, and air. The atmosphere is bright and lively, with blooming flowers and sweeping views of the Markermeer. The menu celebrates the season’s harvest, featuring fresh vegetables from the Beemster region, complemented by select meats or fish.

During the colder months, the restaurant moves into the historic fort, once home to soldiers defending Amsterdam’s coast. Candlelight, open fires, and hearty winter dishes create a warm and intimate setting. Between courses, guests can step outside with a lantern to enjoy the quiet beauty of the island under the stars.

The evening begins with a ferry ride from the Lloyd Hotel, complete with drinks and small bites. Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday, departing at 6:30 PM and returning around 11:45 PM. On Sundays, a matinee lunch departs at 3:30 PM and returns at 8:45 PM.

The entire experience lasts around five hours – a true mini escape from the city.

Price: €120 per person – including boat trip, island access, and six-course menu.
